What Is The Price Of Building With SIPs?

The first question I am asked about Structural Insulated Panels is
ALWAYS "what do the panels cost."

My response is some variation of "less than you would expect
considering what a SIP building will save you every year you own it."

A rather smart ass answer to the right question - asked at the wrong time.

First I need to be positive that the individual considering a SIP building appreciates that the SIP System of building a structure contains values simply non-existent in stick built.

Secondly - as with everything else in this world - the more complex the structure, the greater the cost.

To the right I have shown the cost of the panel systems purchased
for the two projects featured in this site.

The panel package purchased for Sailor's Solace Cottages cost  $17,219.44 in October, 2002.

Total square feet on two levels is 1,152.

The panel package purchased for our home & garage cost $38,614.10 in April, 2003.

Total square feet - including the heated shop/garage - is 2,624.

The propane cost for heating and domestic hot water for both units in 2004 totaled just under $1,700.00.

And in-floor heat is wonderful!
