 There is an airport on Madeline Island - but the great majority of us visit "The Rock" using a boat some kind.

Most winters, the Madeline Island Ferry Line is icebound at the dock from January to March.

But 1998 wasn't a normal winter, and the big ferry punched through the ice all year.

Like the Island itself, the Madeline Island site is a lovely place to visit.

The good folks on Madeline would be pleased to have you complete a request to send printed information while on their site.

And they would be even more pleased to have you visit. The crowds are sparse in winter!
